Whooaaa a whole month since we last chatted?? The holidays are always such a blur and with everything going on time slipped away quickly! Since I can’t recap every single day since my last post, I’m going to share with you some of the highlights and adventures that I’ve had, as well as talk about some of the goals that I have for this year!
Let’s start off with Christmas. Christmas eve was spent at my parent’s house, lounging all day and relaxing! We went to church for the 4 o’clock service, then ended the night atmy Grandma’s house. It’s always great to see the cousins and family since we only see each other a couple times a year. Christmas morning Santa came! He brought me a brand new Kitchen Aid mixer 😉 See the one that I got here (you can also follow me on Insta here too)!
The week after Christmas my childhood best friend Brooke came home! I spent quite a few days at her house. We made homemade eggnog and chocolate pudding that was SO delicious! We also had a fun time playing around with Snapchat with her nephews, and making gingerbread houses.
Fast forward again to New Years Eve. (insert cheesy NYE photo) Mark and I triple dated with some friends at Osaka! Boy do I love some hibachi. We then headed back to their house and played Cards Against Humanity, which led us to midnight. It was such a fun night out!
January wasn’t too eventful until last Thursday and Friday! My mom took my sister and I to Stillwater, MN to see the Ice Castles. When we got to Stillwater, we walked around in super cold temps checking out some little shops until we could check into our hotel. We stayed at GrandStay which was a nice place to stay for a night! After we got everything situated, we headed to the Ice Castles. They were pretty cool to see! They build the castles by hand making for an amazing display.
For dinner, we went to Smalley’s Caribbean Barbeque which was featured on the show Diners Drive-Ins and Dives! (I love that show) Lindsay got the Original BBQ, mom got the Carolina BBQ, and I got the mild Jerk Chicken Wings! I had some of each and everything was delicious. Desserts were half off so we had to test some out. The Key Lime Pie was amazing and we also got a banana cake with vanilla frosting and caramel/guava sauce. It was pretty good too. I had leftovers and gave some to Mark, and he loved them. So worth checking out.
For breakfast in the morning we headed to Tin Bins which is literally a tin building. They have all kinds of coffee and breakfast items. So cute! I had the quiche and a earl gray tea and it was delicious.
That leads me up to today! I have a fun concert coming up this week that I can’t wait to share with you. No interviews this week–hoping to hear back from one, and I have an in-person interview on Monday. Fingers crossed! I’m very hopeful about this one and I’m hoping that it will end well. On that note, I did receive a job offer at the beginning of the year. Unfortunately, I felt as though it wouldn’t be the greatest opportunity for me and I turned it down. My mom told me to follow my gut, so that’s what I did. I didn’t know how to feel right away knowing I just turned down an opportunity, however I’m now feeling better about it because I know it wouldn’t have been the right place for me. Just hoping and praying that everything will fall into place soon! I recently read Mack’s post and one verse stood out to me. That is Philippians 4:6- “do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” I’m so glad that she wrote this post and at exactly the right time. It’s just what I needed and I trust that I will be given what I need when the time is right. I’m just hoping it’s sooner rather than later 😉
Well.. it looks like this post is long enough. I’ll do a separate GOALS post for you guys soon!
P.s. Have you smelled this amazing candle???? I’ve been burning it all of January.
I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season. Let me know what your favorite part of the season was your favorite in the comments below 🙂
