October is here!! And it’s kind of exciting, but also nerve-wracking for my warm-blooded self. I think the season is great, but this season means that winter is coming. And let me tell ya, I’m not a fan.
This weekend went by so fast! Friday night was spent relaxing, and I made a super quick and delicious dinner! It consisted of pan-grilled chicken sprinkled with feta cheese (seasoned with salt, pepper, & chayenne pepper), sauteed kale spinach and mushrooms in olive oil, and vegetable potstickers (which I burnt). It was so good and so filling!
Saturday I spent the morning having breakfast with Mark, watched the new show Designated Survivor and grocery shopped with my mom, and hanging out with Kelli and Maddi the remainder of the afternoon. Btw, have you tried these Luna bars yet? SO GOOD. And they aren’t too bad for you either for how good they are!
Sunday I went to the Ryder cup with my dad! It was so much fun. All week I had been seeing such fun Snapchat stories and Instagram stories and I couldn’t wait to see it for myself! The Ryder cup is an international golf tournament (Think PGA tournament or US Open) and it’s USA vs. EUROPE. People went all out ‘merica in the red, white, & blue apparel. Some people were even wandering around in bald eagle costumes! By the way, USA won!!! It’s was fun to see all of these professional golfers for the first time (and some I’ve seen more than that at other tournaments i.e. Phil Mickelson & Tiger Woods [who wasn’t playing, just mentoring])
This morning I woke up and did Pilates Fix! It’s so tough (in a good way). I loved this video because I will admit that I am weak, but I know that if I keep at it, I’ll be able to see how much I’ve changed since pilates takes so much strength! I’ve seen a lot of bloggers and influencers recently setting goals for October (ahem, Heather for example which I just noticed two seconds ago that she’s posting her new goals today too) and I wanted to set a few goals for myself!
- Do some form of exercise 5 days/wk. Now that I’ve been doing my Beachbody programs for at least a month and a half straight now (5 or 6 days a week every morning), I’m ready to incorporate some additional workouts on top of those!
- Continue to use my LoseIt! app and continue to try and come up with healthy recipes.
- Carve a pumpkin! I’m hoping Mark and I can get to a pumpkin patch this month since he says he’s never carved a pumpkin before. Life gets in the way, but I’m going to make it a goal so that he gets to do that!
- Finish a book. The last book I finished took me MONTHS to complete. I watch way too much Netflix, and would like to finish a book this month.
