A Whoooole Lotta Recap

Hi you guys. Sorry it’s been so long! It’s been a crazy couple of weeks and I’m excited to finally share the recap with you.

The last time we spoke was October 27th, so I’ll start with Halloween weekend! (yeah, that was a long time ago ;)) Halloween weekend was super fun. Saturday my friend Kelli and I hung out all day! We had lunch at Applebees, visited a friend in the town over, and then went out with some friends that night. I didn’t have a costume because I left my house at noon that day and didn’t know what we were going to do! I chose to go with my bootcut jeans, tan booties, and this amazing shirt from the Loft! I LOVE this shirt. It’s super fun and super 70s. I picked this to wear so I could pass as a hippie if anyone asked what I was! 😉 That Sunday I spent the day at home cleaning and organizing. It was much needed!

Since I was laid off, I’ve had some pretty boring weeks. I work part-time for Stitch Fix  so I spend a few hours a day working, and the rest of my day working out, walking, and applying for jobs! (Speaking of Stitch Fix, I should post some amazing pieces I’ve received from them! Also, there’s another company that I would love to start doing posts about as well) I was super excited to have an interview on Tuesday the 1st, however I have heard back and it was a no-go. Job searching is so stressful, and I hate the processes companies use (That’s a subject for another time).

Mark had the first weekend of November off and we had a fun and relaxing weekend! On Saturday, we woke up early and googled the best donut shop in Minnesota! Turns out it’s Glam Doll donuts in Minneapolis right off of Lake Street.

Mark had the “Night Moves” donut which had  blackberry jam, blackberry HENNESSY icing, & brown sugar bits. I had a bite and it was so good! I had the “Outlaw” which had lemon cream cheese, cherry icing & brown butter crumb topping. This one was also super delicious!

Afterward we headed to Minnehaha Falls and did some hiking! It was a beautiful day.

Last week consisted of more working and job searching. Highlights: Tuesday I voted and Friday I had lunch with a couple of ladies I used to work with! It was wonderful.

Saturday I headed to my parents house. We had family pictures and then my sister and I went and saw the high school musical: Legally Blonde! It was amazing and probably the best musical I’ve seen my school put on.

This past week has been pretty much the same as previous weeks, however I must say, I’ve been doing great with my running this week! I tried using Beachbody’s Energize product which is a pre-workout drink (tastes like lemonade) and it is amazing. I ran 1.3 miles on Monday and 1.5 miles on Wednesday! (That’s a miracle since I haven’t ran that far in a loooong time). I’m not sure if it’s because the Energize works or if it’s because it’s all in my head making myself think it works haha!

Friday Mark and I went shopping at Mall of America! (For him, I’m trying to be good). He got some new shoes (chukka boots) that he’s been wanting and he also found a sweater from buckle that he really liked!

On Saturday I hosted a “friendsgiving” at my apartment and we had such delicious food! I made an amazing turkey roulade from the Pioneer Woman. Overall the recipe was super easy and SO DELICIOUS. I needed Mark’s help holding the turkey together though so I could tie the twine (not coordinated at all). I can’t believe Thanksgiving is already on Thursday! Today I just spent the day applying for some more jobs, and as I type this I’m watching The Best of Me on Netflix.

Do you do a friendsgiving with your friends? Do you have any favorite pre or post workout snacks/drinks that you love? What’s the weather like where you are? (It’s dropped to a steady 35 dress this week). Do you have any interview tips?

xo Jennifer

    1. I hope it doesn’t end up being two years until I have a full-time job again! Haha but it’s nice knowing I’m not alone in it. And thank you, God works in mysterious ways and I’m curious to know what else he has in store for me! Have a great week!

  1. Those donuts looks tooooooo die for, oh my gosh. I love all the Minnesota talk since I’m from ND and we’re basically neighbors 🙂 Mall of America shopping is a rare treat for me, but man is it always a blast!
I wish I did friendsgiving. I need to bring that up to my friends and make it happen! My favorite pre-workout is blue raspberry essential Amino Energy. So yummy. The weather here is pretty similar to yours of course, lol. But can’t complain since we only had our first snowfall on Friday and it’s almost December. Interview tips… hmmm. I’d say always always be yourself and be confident!

    1. They were to die for! Haha I love sharing all my MN experiences because I know there aren’t a whoooole lot of bloggers up North unlike other places! It’s nice knowing I have a neighbor to the Northwest 😉

Yes you do need to make it happen! It’s never a dull time being with awesome people. You could even do a Christmas party this year still!

      Thanks for the advice! 🙂

  2. OH MY GOODNESS! I love your recaps. This looks like it is was all just so much fun. I’ve always wanted to go to the Mall of America, but haven’t just yet! Your outfits are always just darling. And friendsgivings are the besttttt!!!!

    – Friendsgiving: I had a small one over the weekend, I’ll be posting soon! I did post my recipe for stuffed squash tonight 🙂
    – Pre workout- a couple cups of Boom Chicka Pop. Just enough carbs to get me going, but not too heavy where it weighs me down!!! Post workout: Egg whites with guacamole on toast!
    – Weather: It’s been in the low 60s in northern Cali. To be honest I miss the change in seasons!
    – Interview tip: Have questions ready for the end of the interview when they say, “Do you have any questions?” 😉 It shows your invested!

Have such a great week and don’t make us wait so long for another recap post 😉 JK, but I do love them. xox

    1. You need to! People come from all over the world to go to MOA… and if you ever do come to MN you need to let me know!

Your Friendsgiving sounded amazing and I hope a week wasn’t too long for a recap 😉 I’m going to try and stay on top of it! 🙂
